Let me try again. For some reason, when I “published” this the first time, the words I had written and the photo I included somehow disappeared. I didn’t realize I was a magician. Ha! I have finally succeeded in uploading or importing or whatever photos from my nikon to my computer and want to share, as the first of many, this, one of my paintings. I have given this one as a gift to Mary, so took the picture of it from where it hangs on her wall. I hope it looks as good when I post it as the real thing does. I am dying for feedback, so please, feel free to comment!

  1. I love this panting Cindy. You have captured the expression and emotion of the angel wonderfully, she looks peaceful, and content as she plays the harp. I really like how you took your inspiration from the angel statue. The colours are beautiful , especially the silver wings and gold in the harp…they make the painting glow and draw you in. Great work, I enjoy seeing your paintings, you are very talented and should paint more often 🙂

    • Thank you! I Really apreciate this comment! If I accomplish nothing else when I paint, I want to be sure to have vivid colors that can’t help but to capture the viewer’s attention. I have been thinking of doing more painting, and I will, as soon as I catch up on my blog. Thank you, Kellie!

    • Thank you! I did not start painting until I was almost 30 years old. I didn’t think I could do it either, but had a canvas from a thrift shop and my son had a water color paint set so out of curiosity and boredom, I started messing around with it. My first painting was months in the making, but what helped was when the water colors ran out, I bought acrylic paint. It is quick drying and you can paint over it again and again, which is what I did. God only knows what all is beneath the final painting. You should give it a try, no expectations, just curiosity and fun. You might surprise yourself. I certainly did!

  3. you are very talented! It looks very nice indeed! I’ve started a thing called 30 days of creativity. You can read about it on my blog. Some other friendsare doing it too. I think if you had the time, I would love to see more. I wish I could paint. It seems like a wonderful way to express yourself.
